About David Sersen

Dave has had interest in abstracts and nature, especially water, since a young age. He shows the up-close view that we normally do not notice- by depicting minute details while navigating streams and wooded areas to find the unseen.

“I have a profound appreciation for our world’s multifaceted system. You will see this profundity in my imagery, and the manner in which it is framed.”

Originally, drawing and oil painting were his mediums of choice. Over the past decade, photography has become his main focus, while custom charcoal drawings are still available on a request basis.

Dave has had the privilege to travel to many countries and about 40% of the United States. He actively pursues backpacking, camping, running, fly fishing, snorkeling, and occasionally bouldering. All skills are used to capture images from places from the unvisited trajectory that most do not dare to set foot, climb to, or hold their breath for.

When not working his shutter finger, Dave consults for various organizations and runs several websites including DiscerningLens.com. His artwork and fine prints have been displayed in museums, various lobbies, hospitals, shops, and private homes. He lives in upstate NY and hopes you enjoy his work as much as he enjoys creating it.
